Ireland's Top Kids Slides
Right up there with the garden swing, a kids slide is one of the most fun toys that there is for young kids. If you want to thrill and entertain for your kids in the garden for hours on end, a garden slide is a must. And if you want to push the boat out, why not combine that with a nice garden swing.
Garden Kid's Slides FAQ:
What size playground slide should I get?
Generally for slides the length is about twice the deck height it is made to fit. For example, a slide that is meant for a 5 ft deck height will be approximately 10 ft long.
How high should slides be?
Slides should have an exit height of 6 inches or less, and the length of the exit region should be at least 7 inches but not more than 10 inches. Single axis swings intended for use without adult assistance should have a pivot point no greater than 47 inches.
How much space do you need for a slide?
In order to install a slide, you need enough space on your patio. For most slides, this means a minimum area of 7' x 15'.
What slope should a slide be?
The target angle for fun and safety is between 30-45 degrees. According to the CPSC Playground Safety Handbook and ASTM F1487-11, an embankment slide should be designed to an average angle of 30 degrees and it must not exceed 50 degrees at any point.
What makes a good playground slide?
The most common variety of plastic used to make playground slides is called HDPE or high-density polyethylene. HDPE provides hassle-free maintenance, high durability, safety, and affordability.
